About Us

​The Yuba County Children’s Wellness and Child Abuse Prevention Council, also known as Children's Council, is governed by organizational bylaws and includes members from public and non-profit agencies, community groups, and parents.

Vision

​End child abuse and neglect in Yuba County by empowering all families with the skills and access to resources that will help them thrive and promote their child's health and safety.

Child Abuse Prevention Plan

Children's Council developed the 2022 Child Abuse Prevention Plan based on local community data, as well as focus groups with community members of professionals from family-serving organizations and agencies.

The overarching goals are to increase prevention efforts to promote the reduction of child abuse and neglect by:
  • Increasing parent competency.
  • Increasing access to behavioral health.
  • Improving maternal and child perinatal health.​
